Thank you for using Smart Messages (the “App”). We take your privacy and personal information seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the App.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the App and its SMS filtering features, including the iOS Message Filter Extension. By using the App, you agree to the terms of this policy.
2. Information We Process
To provide SMS filtering, the App may process the following information:
2.1 Message-Related Information
- Sender phone numbers: Used to identify message sources and apply filtering rules.
- Message content: Used for on-device rule matching and spam detection. The App processes messages only on your device and does not send message content to our servers.
2.2 Information You Provide
- Filter rules and preferences: Such as keywords and number prefixes, stored locally on your device.
- Feedback: If you contact us by email, we receive the email address and content you voluntarily provide.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not require account registration and do not collect your name, government ID, contacts, location, or other sensitive personal information unrelated to SMS filtering.
3. How We Use Information
We process the information above solely to provide SMS filtering services, including:
- Identifying and filtering suspected spam, harassment, or scam messages on your device;
- Saving and applying your filter rules;
- Responding to your inquiries, complaints, or support requests.
We do not use your message content or phone numbers for advertising, nor do we sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Storage and Security
- Local storage: Filter rules are stored locally on your iOS device and protected by the system sandbox.
- Transmission security: If a future version communicates with a server (for example, optional cloud rule updates), we will use encrypted transmission (such as HTTPS/TLS).
- Retention: Local data is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data. Feedback sent by email is retained only as long as needed to handle your request and any necessary follow-up.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
5. Third-Party Services
The App currently does not integrate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. If future versions introduce third-party services (such as crash reporting), we will update this policy, disclose it in the App, and use only services that meet Apple’s privacy requirements.
The App relies on iOS system capabilities provided by Apple (such as the Identity Lookup framework) to run the Message Filter Extension. System-level data processing is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your information:
- Access and modify: View, edit, or delete filter rules and block/allow lists in the App settings.
- Stop processing: Disable the App’s Message Filter Extension, or turn off the App under Settings → Messages → Unknown & Spam, to stop SMS filtering.
- Delete data: Uninstalling the App removes locally stored filtering data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. For material changes, we will also notify you through the App when appropriate. Please review this page periodically.
